Welcome to Day Eleven of the 12 Days of Giftmas by Inside Track Eventing – the ultimate Equestrian Christmas Gift Guide! Each day for the 12 days, I will be bringing you a range of Christmas gift ideas for the horse lovers in your life, each day centred around a specific theme – that will hopefully provide some inspiration for your Christmas gift shopping, or your own Santa list!

You can find the entire gift guide for every day here – why not bookmark it so you can come back to it each day, or use it as your inspiration when doing your Christmas shopping?

The theme for the final day of the 12 Days of Giftmas is Thank You For All That You Do. I wanted the final day of this gift guide series to be a special one, and I couldn’t think of any better way to finish this series than by giving a shout out to all the amazing people who have done so much for us and our horses this year. This is for all the professionals that help us and our horses, and continued to work and support us through lockdowns and social distancing, and sometimes even coping with less work and reduced income.

This final Gift Guide is for the ones who couldn’t work from home. Who showed up every day for us and our horses.

It’s for the Yard Owners.

It’s for the Farriers.

It’s for the Feed, Bedding & Hay Reps or Delivery Drivers.

It’s for the Coaches & Trainers.

It’s for the Vets.

It’s for the Dentists.

It’s for the Physios, Osteopaths and Chiropractors.

It’s for whoever you feel deserves your thanks this year. Read on for some ideas for gifts that you can give to say a special thank you to them this year!

Chocolate

There aren’t many people out there who won’t appreciate the gift of chocolate this Christmas! I usually go for a big box of family favourites like Celebrations or Quality Street, but if you want to give an extra special thanks, why not get them something unique made out of chocolate? The Chocolate Workshop (the cover photo for today’s gift guide) make a range of tools and objects from chocolate, and the results are so incredibly realistic! They had a pop up stand in a local shopping centre a few years ago and I got bits for everyone, and they went down a treat (pardon the pun)! They also come in a lovely little gift box, so perfect for gift giving.

Alcohol

Again, there aren’t many people (especially horsey people!) that will refuse the gift of alcohol! If you don’t know what they like, maybe enlist the help of a fellow client who knows them well, or if you know their family, partner or friends, ask them!

Winter Warmers

Any of these professionals will no doubt be out in all weathers, and especially around this time of year they’ll be out in the cold! Why not pick them up a good pair of waterproof, warm gloves, or for an equally nice gesture for a lower budget, a pair of Hot Hands Hand Warmers?

A Heated Car Seat Cover

And on the topic of staying warm, your gift recipient might not have the luxury of a heated car seat, so why not give them the gift of one with a heated car seat cover? This one is an absolute bargain from Mick’s Garage!

A Travel Mug

For anyone on the road for most of their day, travelling to yards and doing callouts, a travel mug will come in very handy for their teas or coffees – and help save the planet!

Hand Cream

For most people working outdoors, soft hands aren’t always easy to come by! But at the very least, they’ll want to protect their skin and prevent it from cracks, so a good hand cream will always go down a treat! For the most hard working of creams, you’ll want something like O’Keeffe’s Working Hands (no relation to me!), and if you’re looking for something a little more luxury that could come nicely packaged, I would personally recommend the Kiehls Ultimate Strength Hand Salve.

A 2021 Diary

Help them organise all their appointments with a nice 2021 Diary! Depending on their personality, you can choose a simple one or go more fun and colourful!

Something Homemade

If you’re a whiz at baking or you make a mean mulled wine, why not make them up something nice from home? The extra effort made by you will be sure to go down a treat – and earn you lots of extra brownie points (pun totally intended)!

Their Business Name or Logo on Something

There’s nothing more professional than a piece of ‘merch’ with your logo on it – and if you have access to theirs, why not get it embroidered onto something for them? It could be something as simple as a beanie hat, or if you fancy splashing out a bit more on them, get them a gilet or a jacket with the logo/business name embroidered!

A Gift Card for a Non Horsey Experience

Often our favourite equine professionals spend most of their waking hours at their job, consumed by horses – why not give them a gift of a nice experience that’s just for them and nothing to do with horses? Whether it’s for a spa to soothe their tired aching muscles, or for a meal out with their partner, they are sure to appreciate a gift that is just for them.

Club Together with their other Clients for a Bigger Gift

If you want to stick to a budget, but give someone a BIG thank you, why not club together with a few others who want to do the same to get a bigger gift? Maybe all the liveries on one yard club together for their yard owner, or a few individual clients in the same area for their farrier

So there’s a few ideas for all budgets to say a big ‘thank you’ to those who have done so much for us this year! I hope you enjoyed today’s gift guide – and I hope you enjoyed all of the other eleven gift guides too! It was such a great experience to pull together gift ideas that were unique, and featured so many small and local businesses across Ireland and the UK – I hope you all find a way to #ShopLocal and #ShopSmall this year, to support the wonderful businesses and our local economy.

Here’s to a very merry Christmas and a much brighter 2021.
